Well, since I have nothing intresting to blog about right now, I will share the wonders of the country I call home. Now, I could be doing the laundry or even playing with Cameron, but no... I am on the computer. I have sat my child in front of the T.V. and I am having coffee while playing on the computer.
So, in September we made a move from the hustle and bustle of Arlington to a quiet street in the country. Yes, Granbury has grown up a lot, but there are places in this town that still remind me of the way it was 9 years ago when my parents moved me down here. (Which I protested!) Let me just say, I love the quiet of the country. We moved from a tiny 2 bedroom duplex with a backyard the size of a peanut to this great big 3 bedroom house with a yard in fron and back 10 times the size of the Arlington duplex. It is HUGE! I hardly have any neighbors around me. If my house we on an octagon, I would have 1 neighbor. The rest is pastures and horses.
This is our view from the front door.
When living in the country there are a few things you must remember:
1.) When you live by grass- there will be spiders. Let's just say I have spent so much money on Terminex. They know me well enough now to not even ask me my address!
Yes, I trapped him but he was so big he was lifting up the box. Let's just say a coloring book came to my rescue.2.) Cows are wonderful... unless you live by an Animal Clinic and they moo all night horrible moo's that make you wonder what is going on outside.
3.) Look to see if you live by "Ballfields." Van went out of town for business the weekend after we moved in and I did not want to be alone. I told my mother she might have to come spend the night with me. I was doing really well until dark. I began hearing "gun shots!" I was freaking out and called my mother and told her some crazy farm guy was shooting at something and to come over quick. The next day I saw the sign before my street... yes the ball fields were just about 2 blocks from me and let's just say when it's dark and you're alone the automatic ball shooter SOUNDS like a gun!
4.) In the country, you might see farm animals in your yard. Better use it as a nice "Barnyard Preschool lesson!"
Yes... that is a rooster in the tree outside my office window.
5.) No matter how many animals may defficate in your yard- there is nothing like cleaning up goat/sheep poo.
Ahhh, the country is not that bad. We have enjoyed the country so far. Minus the scary, oddly large spiders, the rooster that crows at 4 in the morning RIGHT outide my windows, the cheering at the ballfields 24/7, the sheep and goats that seem to get loose every day, and the Animal Clinic sounds that scare grown men at 1 a.m. I would say it's peaceful, but would you believe that?
Yeah!! Welcome to the blogging world. I'm so excited to be able to peak into the antics of Cameron!! Miss you.
