I want Cameron to learn that it is kind to give to others. I know he is young but he will be 4 soon. I fugured it is never to early to start. It may be a little hard to understand, but the more we do it the more he will understand.
We made a "Jesus" piggy bank and a "Cameron" piggy bank. Everytime Cameron helps me around the house he will be rewarded for his chore being completed. Now, his toys do no count towards this. Everytime he completes a job, he will get 2 coins or 2 dollars (depending on the job.) Half of all the money he makes will go to the "Jesus" bank and the other half will go to the "Cameron" bank. Once the bank is full (the Jesus bank) we will dontate it to the charity of his choice or buy supplies for our local homeless shelter. Then when his bank is half full, atleast, we will count the money and he can buy whatever he wants. Seems ok, right?
I also have a "Good Samaritan" lesson that goes along with this. He enjoyed it a BUNCH!
I was proud of him. Other than painting one container and handing him the letters, he did everything.
It's never too early to start!
