Spring Break E.R. Visit

Spring break is here! Van took vacation the Thursday and Friday before Cameron's spring break and Monday through Wednesday of Cameron's actual spring break. WELL... on Friday night we woke Cameron up to go to the bathroom. On his way back to bed, he made a pit stop at my bed. When he was "rolling" off my bed, he fell and slammed his ear on the bedside table. Not good. I was in the other room and heard the most horrid screaming! (*Note that it was 11:00 p.m.) I ran in and saw blood everywhere and Van holding Cameron. It was our first trip to the Emergency Room with Cameron. Thank goodness it hasn't happened already, because my baby boy inherited BOTH of his parents' clumsiness. The doctor tried to "glue it" but decided on stitches... with no anesthetic. My poor baby :(

This is his "cracked" ear, as he called it.
Not a happy camper!
First stitches, all two of them!

His ear is healing nicely though I am dreading the doctor visit on Friday when they take the stitches out.

What A Blessing!

I have to say that this was adorable. Cameron always asks to say the blessing, but normally he gets shy and half way through needs help. Tonight it was just Cameron and I for dinner. (Thanks to those ice days, Van had to make up work.) Cameron asked if he could say the blessing. I, of course, said yes. We closed our eyes and he began. It was so amazing, I had to bribe him with ice cream to do it again for my camera! Here it is!

I love Crosstown Preschool!

Collin's Basketball Game

January has been a VERY busy month! However, we did make time to go see my oldest nephew, Collin, play basketball! We had a wonderful time seeing everyone and we were able to give Luke his birthday present! Perfect! The game was great! Collin did a wonderful job!

Luke and Cameron playing on the iPhones! They can work those better than I can!
Collin playin' basketball!!!!
Happy Birthday Luke!

I loved seeing Kaylee, Collin and Luke! Can't wait to see Hailey and Hannah (Note: Tara if you are reading this :) I'm coming to Austin! HA!)

Cameron These Days

I have a few things I have to "get on paper" about Cameron these days.

1.) He is always something. Sometimes he is Batman, a puppy, Buzz- he is ALWAYS something. Lately, he is an elephant. He does this funny on all fours walk with his bottom way up in the air and makes an elephant sound. It is hard to concentrate on anything when you see "Little Elephant Boy" walk by.

2.) Cameron is all into his cousins right now. EVERYTHING is about the cousins... everything! This is not bad but none of them live very close so I have to constantly remind him we can't just go see them after school. It's sweet the things he says about them- he has a heart of gold, that's for sure.

3.) Cameron is learning to tell time. The other morning he crawled into my bed, after Van had left for work (he leaves at 5 am BTW) and said, "Mommy, it's time to wake up!" I replied, "Cameron read me the numbers on daddy's clock." His reply was, "It says five two five." Um- WHAT?! I thought surely he had mixed up some numbers so I sat up and saw- that he was, in fact, correct. I couldn't overlook the fact that he said the correct time, so we were up. Telling time is fun... unless your child thinks anything after 4 am is "wake up time."

4.) We have hit "FIT" central. I was hoping to take the short cut from the whiny three's to happy four's. We must have missed the exit. EVERYTHING... okay maybe I should cut him some slack...ALMOST everything turns into a, "buuuuuttttt mmmooooommmmyyyyyy...." Yep, Gee, three wasn't so bad ;)

5.) I have been forced to put Cameron in preschool 5 days a week from 9-2:30 because this college thing is demanding. Yes, I know, I know, a four year degree is not easy. However, I miss my baby. I am blessed though that his school is amazing.

6.) The kids is just plain funny. He spouts out random things at the most perfect time. You can't help but crack up. This may be one of my favorite things about the age of 4.

That's all I've got for now.

Santa Over The Years

Christmas 2006

Sadly, I just realized I do not have Christmas 2007. It is in my Christmas stuff :( I am going to have a fit until I can dig it out!

Christmas and New Years

I have been finishing up my last year (well year and 3 months) with so much vigor, I have not blogged in so long. SO- this is the super post! I am going to cover Christmas eve up until today all in one. Thank goodness for "tags!"

This Christmas was very magical for our little family. Cameron's preschool was very good at teaching what Christmas is all about. I was very pleased. Also, we had our first real Santa year! I am cheesy- so don't laugh. As usual, we made cookies and read the night before Christmas and sent our happy four year old to bed. Luckily this year, we had no "assembling" to do! Phew! I have ALWAYS caught Cameron's Christmas morning reaction on video- every year so far. This year, since he actually gets it, I did not. I did however, set my alarm for 6 am to get up before him. (He is a very early riser!) Van and I woke up and pretended to be asleep... after I set the coffee pot. When we were ready, I tiptoed into the hallway, shook a bell VERY load, and in a muffled voice yelled, "Ho Ho HO!" and ran back to bed and waited. I heard it all-
"Cameron- "Santa? SANTA!?" He gets up and runs to the tree. In tears my sweet boy is yelling, "Mommy, Daddy he came! He really came! He's real. Oh, mommy, Daddy!" It was amazing. His little voice was fighting back the sweetest tears- It made me cry. He was so excited, he was beyond himself. He found the bell "Santa" left and a note from Santa cautioning him to be a good boy. It was magic!

New Year's Eve my mom and I went to Holly Lake Ranch to have Christmas with Mamaw! I was so happy I was able to make it to see her... and her tree!

This is just a random picture but I love it.
